Q&A

How did you get into cosplay?
Marlie got into cosplay because of Allison's love for it and Marlie's love for crafting! Allison got into cosplay from her mother's love of sewing and wanting to have a place to show off her sewing skills, too.

What inspires you to cosplay a character?
We are inspired by the details in costumes and by the characters' personalities and impacts in pop culture.

What advice would you give to someone new to cosplay or wanting to get into it?
Cosplay is for everyone! We all start somewhere, and there are so many great resources on social media and the internet for getting started.

Who are your inspirations for cosplays? Makers, cosplayers, artist?
Our inspirations come from many cosplayers, including Kamui, Love Bunny, Kinpatsu, and especially local cosplayers!

What do you do with old cosplay?
We typically sell old cosplays, give them to others, or repurpose them.

Whats your favorite cosplay memory? Favorite con?
Our favorite cosplay memory is competing in the iron cosplay contest at Tokyo in Tulsa a few years ago, and our favorite con is Soonercon!

What are you most excited about in Making Legends:Cosplay Culture?
We are excited to share our experience in cosplay and how much of a great impact it can make on your own life and your community.
