Our Impact

Since its inception in 1970, the Firehouse has had a history of excellence as a community arts center, offering accessible visual arts programming to individuals of all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, including underserved groups like adults with disabilities, veterans, and disadvantaged students in Title I schools.

  • Limited Edition
    Experience heroes and villains coming alive at our Limited Edition Opening Reception, Thursday May 22, from 5:30-8:30 PM. See comic books in a whole new light, while enjoying food from Hideaway Pizza and beverages from Big Brewing Co!

    From the first turn of a page, readers have been captivated by the heroes and villains that come to life in panels covered in action and adventure.  Printed in our memories, the illustrated characters that inspired us are timeless reminders of our shared stories. These carefully collected issues have captured our imagination, becoming our most cherished Limited Edition comics.

    Join Jerry Bennett as he discusses the paths to becoming a published comic creator and offers advice, tips, and tricks for you!

  • Century of Comics with Jeff Provine

    Learn from author and historian Jeff Provine as he takes us through a century of comic history; from Action and Archie to Arigon!

    Friday, July 11, 6:30-8:30 PM.

    Meet and greet with Arigon Starr, enrolled member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma singer, songwriter, musician, actor, artist,  playwright, and author of Super Indian graphic novels.
