Join us in Lions Park Friday, November 18th, for an Outdoor Movie featuring Hocus Pocus! Admission is free; activities begin at 6:00 pm, and the film starts at sunset. We will be having a live mural painting by artist, Lumen Miramontes.
Lumen Miramontes is a multidisciplinary artist from Norman, OK who divides their days between working as a children’s art educator, their personal art practice, and studying at the University of Central Oklahoma. Lumen primarily works in printmaking and painting, but they often refer to themselves as an “Art Goblin,” using whatever medium necessary to bring their playful ideas to life. As a muralist, they enjoy creating colorful scenes that are joyful and narrative-driven, setting up unexpected scenes to happen upon on your daily walk. They also specialize in creating collaborative murals that invite the community to participate in their completion, letting participants leave their own mark on the place they call home. Lumen draws on sense-memory and nostalgia for inspiration, rooted in their intense relationship with sensation as a neurodivergent person.
